Babies no more/ New vacation strategy

Well my two youngest kids are babies no more.

They started Junior High this past Monday, August 5th.

It is a big culture shock for them because they are use to how they do things in Elementary school. Not having to change classes and just staying all day right in the same area of the school.

Now they change classes 6 times and have a 3 story school they have to go up and down and back and forth.

Lunch choices/quality is much better in Junior High. Instead of 2 nasty choices a day they get 4 choices and they both agreed the food is much better. (Silver Lining)

However this is day 3 of the new year and they still have not assigned lockers or issued books yet.

The supply list is enormous. EVERY CLASS sent home a list of supplies.

The car rider line is not as bad as it was in Elementary school. Instead of having to get to the school 90 minutes before school gets out and sitting in my car for 90 minutes I only have to show up 45 minutes before school gets out and my wait time is HALF what it use to be. I am happy about that. I was not even sitting in my car long enough yesterday to read one half of one magazine. But right now with it being 100 degrees outside that means I am sitting there with my car running and the air blowing for 45 minutes.

The school time is completely different. In 6th grade they went to school from 8:20 to 3:30 and now they go from 7:25 to 2:20. They are suppose to be at school by 7:10. Thankfully we only live about 8 minutes from the school with traffic.

They only have to go to Junior High for 2 years here in Mississippi. 7th and 8th. When I was in middle school we were there for 6th, 7th and 8th. (In Texas) So just as soon as they get use to Junior High they will have to do this whole new school thing over again in High School.

Well, in other news.... We are now the proud owners of 434,000 Wyndham timeshare points. We have bought 4 different contracts for timeshare points we will use for our family vacations. It wasn't very expensive at all and the annual maintenance fees we will pay will be less than what it costs us for one week of a hotel for our family Disney vacation.

Most of the points will be used for the husband to use to go to Daytona Bike Week and Biketoberfest type things for his motorcycle hobby. We will also use the points for Jeremy and I to go to Orlando and once a year we will use the points for us to take a big family vacation.

Next year we are going to take a big family vacation to the Smoky Mountains/Gatlinburg, Tennessee for 7 days at the Great Smokies Lodge in Sieverville, Tennessee.

Then summer 2015 we will take a big family vacation to Branson, Missouri. Then 2016 Nashville, Tennessee, then 2017 Washington, D.C. I already have plans for our family vacations for the next several years. I also want to use it to eventually get to go to NYC and see some Broadway shows. We will also use it to go to Vegas and see some more shows. And if we ever get tired of going on vacations (HAHAHAHAHA) we will sell the contracts. We got them for a song and a dance so we won't lose anything if we ever get rid of them.

I am excited to get these vacation points because it will enable us to stay in Wyndham condos instead of little 2 bed hotel rooms. It will have actual bedrooms, a full kitchen and a washer and dryer in each unit. (Although we don't usually stay in little 2 bed hotel rooms. We usually stay in suites. So the savings will be enormous)

DH and I like to have a separate living room on vacation because he usually wakes up at around 4 am and he can go in the living room and get on his computer and watch TV and I can stay asleep until 7 or so. I am not an early riser. Not even on vacation. I have him wake me up at 6:30 or 7. He wakes up ON HIS OWN at the crack of dawn or earlier.

So that is the latest news for now. TTFN.
