New Chick Fil-A in town. Gay marriage anybody?

I have never been to a Chick Fil-A in my life. I was born and raised until I was 30 in Texas and they had them there I just had never gone to one.

They recently constructed one in our town and the school gave out coupons for the grand opening that entitled the kids to a free Chicken sandwich. Both kids came home with a coupon.

I decided today I would take them up there and let them use their coupon and see if they like Chick Fil-A.

We pulled up and I thought man there is nobody here that's weird. But we got out of the car and went up to the door and it was locked. I looked on the store hours posted on the door and it said CLOSED SUNDAY.

I was like WTF why would a fast food place be closed on Sunday.

Then it started coming back to me. I remember hearing something about the corp owners being very religious and not letting the stores open on Sundays. Then I remembered hearing something about them donating to anti-gay organizations and opposing gay marriage and protests and such.

Once it all started coming back to me I told the kids what I remembered and why they weren't open on Sunday.

My daughter told me MOM we shouldn't come back here then. She decided she doesn't want to use her free coupon anymore. So there you go. We won't be eating at the new Chick Fil-A in our town. Ppl have been telling me how great the food is. I don't eat Chicken so I don't really care.

I don't normally boycott businesses for any reason. I don't care what their beliefs or politics are. But my daughter feels differently about it.

UPDATE: The kids curiosity about whether or not the food was any good out-weighed their desire to boycott the business and we ended up going there. They love the food and have asked to go back since then but I haven't taken them. Like I said... I never boycott businesses for any reason. I just don't care enough to inconvenience myself like that, but I was going to go along with it for my kids sake. They just changed their mind. I do not like the anti-gay ideas of the Chick Fil-A owners because I have a gay family member but you can't control or change ppl. A business is a business.

  1. PBX is ideal for small business and entrepreneurs. It gives a professional image and make sure that you don't miss a single call. Few months back, I decided to buy PBX from Telcan. You can get more information here: PBX
