I know I haven't been blogging much. I think I only posted 7 times in March and it is already almost a week into April and I am just now posting to say I don't have anything to post about.
My computer has been acting stupid. It got to where I would click on a link or on a web page and the computer would just sit there trying to load it for 10 minutes and never load the page. I ran the disc clean, CC Cleaner, Malware Bytes, disc defragmenter, cleared the cache, cleared all temp Internet files, I have done everything I could think of to do to remedy the situation and it still wouldn't load pages. So I got out my system recovery discs that came with the computer to do a complete system restore on it.
I spent 24 hours doing the system restore then the subsequent hundreds of windows updates that spanned the last 4 years. Service pack 1, service pack 2 and all the little hundreds of updates in between. I know my computer restarted 30 times in 24 hours while doing all the updates. I finally got it all done and got everything re-downloaded back on it, all the software added back on it. The only thing left to do that I haven't done is download ITunes again. I forgot to even write that on my list of things I needed to add back to my computer.
Once I got everything back the way it was/is suppose to be the computer was/is still acting stupid. Not wanting to load some pages at all.
I downloaded FireFox again and added it back to my computer and that seems to load pages faster than IE but still not as fast as it should. But something is better than nothing.
There is no virus on my computer so I don't even know what caused it to start acting bad to begin with. But whatever it is, doing a complete system restore didn't fix it. It must be something bad.
Yesterday was my DS's 10th birthday. Now all 3 of my kids are in the double digits. 10, 11 & 25.
The countdown to Disney is now at 7 months and counting. October 29th will be here before we even know it. We just have to make it through Summer and the beginning of a new school year then we'll be there!!
I have read just about every Disney guide book they make in an effort to make sure I have all the information I can get on all things Disney. Since none of us have ever been there before I want to make sure we get the most out of our time there and get to see and do everything there is to do at Disney. Our plan is to be there 8 days (9 days total if you count the day we leave) and we are going to do one day at each park: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal, Sea World, each of the Disney water parks, Downtown Disney and Disney Quest as well as one night at Cirque De Soliel La Nouba.
I'm still crossing my fingers that sometime before we go we get a special offer promotion through Disney to get the Disney dining plan for free. The last 2 years, Disney has offered free dining plan for the time of our trip but they didn't offer it until August for late Oct early Nov travel dates. That wouldn't give me very much time to try to get in my advanced dining reservations that you are suppose to make 6 months in advance but if we get free dining, we will make the best out of it and make do with what we have. If nothing else, we will skip all the places that require advanced reservations and eat all counter service/quick service meals. Free is free, right?
If we were to buy the dining plan for 5 of us for 8 days it would cost a little over $1,800. So I will be elated if we end up getting it. That would save us close to $1,000 in actual eating costs. We can eat cheaper than we can pay for the dining plan. It costs almost 50 bucks per person per day for the dining plan for all of us because Disney considers any kid over 9 to be an adult. Kids ages 10 and up pay adult price for tickets and for the dining plan. But in reality, if we are paying out of pocket for food, all 3 of our kids, ages 10, 11 and 12 can order and eat a kids meal for less than 10 bucks each meal. That is only 30 dollars a day or LESS to eat, not the 50 it would cost for us to buy the dining plan for them.
The only difference is, if we get the free REGULAR dining plan where you get one quick service meal, one table service meal and one snack per day per person, we will be eating a sit down meal every day. That can run upwards of $200 for 5 ppl at Disney. They think very highly of their food and charge accordingly. Some buffets are $35 per person, even for the 10 yr old kid. CRAZY!! One of the biggest expenses of a Disney vacation is the cost of eating. Since we will be staying on Disney property and eating on Disney property, you can imagine why I am hoping to score the free dining plan. It is already going to cost a few arms and legs for all of us to go.
Anyway, enough about the Disney stuff again.
What have you all been up to? I am sure you have missed me terribly. =)
