Yeah I'm an asshole.

Yes. I was one of the 2 billion assholes watching the royal wedding. I thought it was boring. The best part was watching everybody drive up to the Abbey in the fancy cars and her walking down the isle. I know it is tradition but it was so weird that William did not turn around and watch her walking down the isle.

Also there was no wedding kiss like what we do in America. I know they kissed twice on the balcony but it is not the same.

Her dress was fabulous but even better than Kate's dress, to me, was her sister Pippa's dress. Her dress was beautiful and she has a tiny little figure just like her sister. I think she may be a tad bit prettier in the face than her sister. SHUT MY MOUTH!! I KNOW!!

It was sweet when Will told Kate she looked beautiful when she walked up to the alter beside him and it was cool when Kate walked out on the balcony and mouthed "WOW" when she saw all the hundreds of thousands of ppl outside the palace.

I learned from the TV coverage of the wedding that it is royal tradition/protocol that she gets pregnant within 18 months of the wedding. How cold and official is that? I figure that may be why they waited so long to get married because neither of them were ready to have kids yet. Now they are old enough to start a family and have had 8 years together without kids, they can go ahead and start popping them out I guess.

It's not like she has to raise her own kids anyway. They have nurses and nannies. But considering it is rumored that Will and Kate are going to live with NO SERVANTS, she may end up raising her own kids, who knows?!?

HELL, to me, one of the biggest benefits of marrying into that stuck up royal bullshit is having all those servants. LOL. Give me 3 housekeepers and 2 nannies and a butler and driver. Hells yeah!! Kate will come around eventually. She will get sick of cleaning Will's shit skids out of the toilets and she will get some help.

Well, I did not get up at 4 am to watch. I cheated. I set my DVR to record TLC's coverage of it.

Did you watch?

Motel living

Well... I have returned from a 48 hour journey to the Motel 6 and back. About 5 am Tuesday morning our power went out. A power pole BROKE in half and power lines were hanging, dangling across our road and we were trapped back here in our neighborhood because there is only one way in and one way out.

I was unable to take the kids to school Tuesday, because, well, obviously there's power lines hanging in the road.

Somehow on Tuesday afternoon my oldest son drove UNDER the power lines and showed up at my house and made me realize maybe I wasn't stuck after all, so when he left I followed him out, under the dangling power lines. They weren't HOT/active of course.

The power company said right from the get go it would probably be 6 pm Wednesday before power was restored because there were SO MANY power lines down in our area from strong winds and tornadoes moving through this area. (Mississippi)

We packed up and went right up the road to the Motel 6. Turns out you don't have to pay $200 a night to get a decent motel room. We even got free wireless Internet access. The kids loved it. They loved roaming the halls and going to the vending machine and ice machine. They loved HAVING to go out to eat every meal. I didn't really mind that part of it myself.

Well, we came back this morning and the power is back on but now I have a side by side fridge/freezer and a big deep freezer full of food that has to be thrown out and replaced. Not sure yet how much that is going to set me back. AT least $450 I think.

Someone on Twitter mentioned possibly getting my home owners policy to pay for it but we have a $500 deductible.

I feel very lucky to even have our house after all the ppl who have lost their homes and so many that have died in the last 2 weeks in Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama. We have had a few tornadoes go through our area lately but none have come close to our house. I was watching CNN last night and it reported that just yesterday over 2 dozen ppl died in Alabama.

How has the recent weather affected you?

Happy Easter Phuckers

This is going to be a GAWD DAYUM LONG ASS 4 day weekend. The kids are already letting me know how bored they are.

I let them have their Easter baskets early and they loved them. I make homemade baskets every year and buy candy, toys, bubbles, etc. They come out WAY BETTER than that crap you buy in the store that has 2 little packs of candy taped to some cardboard. I have never bought my kids those shitty store bought baskets. Their dad has bought them one of those before but they don't like them near as much as my homemade ones.

This year I got them bubble fans. They are little battery powered fans that blow these HUGE bubbles. They payed with them first before they even ate any candy.

In other news DD has some little boy that keeps texting my phone to talk to her. It's getting real old real fast. Not old enough for me to get her her own phone. I'm not doing that but we are going to have to do something different about this boy texting and calling my phone.

What did you get your kids for Easter?

I can't help myself.

I just can't help myself. A little bruhaha/drama has erupted between myself and a cousin that I haven't laid eyes on in over TWENTY YEARS about me not going to her wedding 6 hours away in Texas and she won't shut up about it, so I am going to have to share it with you all.

It started out I posted a little note on Facebook saying how funny my husband is and how he makes me laugh every day and how I wouldn't trade him for a million bucks.

Now back story. This cousin, Sarah, is my dad's brother's daughter who I haven't seen since she was a 5 yr old wearing diapers about to start kindergarten over 20 years ago. More like 22 years ago I think. She may be 27 or 28. She has been engaged for awhile, and she talks about it constantly on Facebook, all day every day since she got engaged. She talks about her bridal shower that she gave herself and her bachelorette party. (She found me on Facebook through my brother's page, I did not seek her out, I only ACCEPTED her friend request)

She bugged me for 2 months about my son's (DS25) address and where to send his invitation to. She commented on all my Facebook posts. So I finally messaged her and gave her my address and my DS25's address so she could send the wedding invitations.

She messaged me when she sent them. She messages me and asked me if we had gotten them, twice, and once we got them she started in asking if we were coming. Now she didn't message me through Facebook messages like a normal person would, she kept leaving comments on my Facebook wall posts that I would post about random things that had nothing to do with her or her wedding.

Yesterday she did it again, She reminded me to tell myself and my son not to forget to RSVP about her wedding. Now I know you only RSVP usually if you ARE GOING to something so I knew it was time I told her we would not be coming.

Here's the Facebook exchange that took place:

I swear my husband is so funny. He comes up with the funniest stuff at a moment's notice. He makes me laugh every day. He likes to joke with ppl and aggravate everybody but I wouldn't trade him for a million dollars

    • Sarah Charlene Smith Hey don't forget the rsvp & please remind dustin
      17 hours ago ·

    • Peggy Sue Smith Brister Dustin can't leave town to go to a wedding I can tell you for sure he won't come. He is working and when he is not working he is having to drive his g/f back and forth to work. I can't come either. I already made my trip to Texas. I won't be coming back for awhile.

    • Sarah Charlene Smith Ummm ok that is a little insulting on both parts but ok... Have a good day
      15 hours ago ·

    • Peggy Sue Smith Brister What's insulting? That Dustin can't afford to take off work to come to Texas or that I have already been to Texas and cant return again? Why would it insult you that I wouldn't come to your wedding? I haven't seen you since you were about 6. But you're insulted? Whatever back at ya.

Now I unfriended her and I sent her my last reply in a message to make sure she got it since I didn't know if she could see my page now that I unfriended her and this is the exchange that has happened since. Read from the top down. Mine first then her reply then my reply.

Wow chill with ur attitude first of all. And yes he has known for 9 months! And yes that you are so self involved that you never keep in touch. You didnt even go see my dad when you were here! So i got ur whatever.
Peggy Sue Smith Brister April 14 at 7:44am
I haven't seen anybody in my dad's family in over 20 years. If that makes me self involved then so be it. I don't like to be phony and pretend I have a close family when I don't. You started with the attitude of "kind of insulted" that kills me! And it doesn't matter if Dustin has known for the last 2 years that you are getting married next month that still doesn't change his circumstances or his job, or his g/f's job that would allow him to leave the state for a few days. And I have been to Texas once in the last year and don't plan to come back, for anybody. But thanks for the invitations, and the reminders, and the reminder of the reminder. Hope it goes great for you!

I will keep you posted how this all goes. I may end up blocking her if I can figure out how to do it.

I'm FAMOUS!

It's the only explanation. It has to be the reason. I must be Twitter famous.

Why else would someone devote an entire Twitter page (3 actually as of today) strictly to heckle me? Why would someone go to the trouble of creating a new email address to create a new Twitter account which has only ONE PERSON they are following (me) to show up on my page to tell me what an idiot I am, how much my blog sucks and how bad my Etsy bags suck?

I blocked the first account. I think it took them awhile to figure out I was not seeing their bullshit they were tweeting to me. Then the second account popped up and I immediately blocked it and within 5 minutes of blocking the second one, the third one popped up.

They have given no specific reason for why they are obsessing over me and seem to be hell bent on making sure I know they don't like me.

At first I was baffled but am now quite amused by it. The fact that someone will go through that much trouble over me amazes me. It has to mean I am now famous, right? =)

Disney what?

I caught the tail end of some infomercial on TV this morning for something called The Disney vacation Club. As I was listening to all the selling points and what all you get from being a DVC member it sounded better and better. I thought to myself, "Self, why are you not ALREADY a Disney Vacation Club member?" They showed 4 different families all going on different types of Disney vacations using their Disney Vacation Club points.

I decided to skip the rest of the infomercial and just go to the website myself and see what all was involved in joining the DVC.

I quickly discovered why I am not a member of the DVC.

To join it takes a one time fee of $12,000 (twelve thousand dollars) and a maintenance fee of $500 per year.

For that money you get 100 vacation points per year. You can use them up every year or you can save them up and let them accumulate and use them for longer better vacations. And you can borrow from your next 2 years vacation points. An example trip that you can take for 100 points was a 5 night stay at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

SO, you are basically buying into some timeshare in disguise thing.

I decided I will leave the Disney Vacation Club to the rich folks and I will stick to going on vacation the middle class way... save up for it, pay for it, then go. That's how we roll. Also, my husband would never give me $12,000 for anything. Well, I can't say that he paid for my car which was way more than 12k, but that's a phucking car guys. That's not a disposable vacation. SO let me rephrase that... he would never give me $12,000 to join any type of club, vacation or otherwise.

Do you know any rich folks who actually belong to the Disney Vacation Club?

Happy April

I know I haven't been blogging much. I think I only posted 7 times in March and it is already almost a week into April and I am just now posting to say I don't have anything to post about.

My computer has been acting stupid. It got to where I would click on a link or on a web page and the computer would just sit there trying to load it for 10 minutes and never load the page. I ran the disc clean, CC Cleaner, Malware Bytes, disc defragmenter, cleared the cache, cleared all temp Internet files, I have done everything I could think of to do to remedy the situation and it still wouldn't load pages. So I got out my system recovery discs that came with the computer to do a complete system restore on it.

I spent 24 hours doing the system restore then the subsequent hundreds of windows updates that spanned the last 4 years. Service pack 1, service pack 2 and all the little hundreds of updates in between. I know my computer restarted 30 times in 24 hours while doing all the updates. I finally got it all done and got everything re-downloaded back on it, all the software added back on it. The only thing left to do that I haven't done is download ITunes again. I forgot to even write that on my list of things I needed to add back to my computer.

Once I got everything back the way it was/is suppose to be the computer was/is still acting stupid. Not wanting to load some pages at all.

I downloaded FireFox again and added it back to my computer and that seems to load pages faster than IE but still not as fast as it should. But something is better than nothing.

There is no virus on my computer so I don't even know what caused it to start acting bad to begin with. But whatever it is, doing a complete system restore didn't fix it. It must be something bad.

Yesterday was my DS's 10th birthday. Now all 3 of my kids are in the double digits. 10, 11 & 25.

The countdown to Disney is now at 7 months and counting. October 29th will be here before we even know it. We just have to make it through Summer and the beginning of a new school year then we'll be there!!

I have read just about every Disney guide book they make in an effort to make sure I have all the information I can get on all things Disney. Since none of us have ever been there before I want to make sure we get the most out of our time there and get to see and do everything there is to do at Disney. Our plan is to be there 8 days (9 days total if you count the day we leave) and we are going to do one day at each park: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Universal, Sea World, each of the Disney water parks, Downtown Disney and Disney Quest as well as one night at Cirque De Soliel La Nouba.

I'm still crossing my fingers that sometime before we go we get a special offer promotion through Disney to get the Disney dining plan for free. The last 2 years, Disney has offered free dining plan for the time of our trip but they didn't offer it until August for late Oct early Nov travel dates. That wouldn't give me very much time to try to get in my advanced dining reservations that you are suppose to make 6 months in advance but if we get free dining, we will make the best out of it and make do with what we have. If nothing else, we will skip all the places that require advanced reservations and eat all counter service/quick service meals. Free is free, right?

If we were to buy the dining plan for 5 of us for 8 days it would cost a little over $1,800. So I will be elated if we end up getting it. That would save us close to $1,000 in actual eating costs. We can eat cheaper than we can pay for the dining plan. It costs almost 50 bucks per person per day for the dining plan for all of us because Disney considers any kid over 9 to be an adult. Kids ages 10 and up pay adult price for tickets and for the dining plan. But in reality, if we are paying out of pocket for food, all 3 of our kids, ages 10, 11 and 12 can order and eat a kids meal for less than 10 bucks each meal. That is only 30 dollars a day or LESS to eat, not the 50 it would cost for us to buy the dining plan for them.

The only difference is, if we get the free REGULAR dining plan where you get one quick service meal, one table service meal and one snack per day per person, we will be eating a sit down meal every day. That can run upwards of $200 for 5 ppl at Disney. They think very highly of their food and charge accordingly. Some buffets are $35 per person, even for the 10 yr old kid. CRAZY!! One of the biggest expenses of a Disney vacation is the cost of eating. Since we will be staying on Disney property and eating on Disney property, you can imagine why I am hoping to score the free dining plan. It is already going to cost a few arms and legs for all of us to go.

Anyway, enough about the Disney stuff again.

What have you all been up to? I am sure you have missed me terribly. =)
