*yawn*

I started watching the PRE-Oscar show on the E channel yesterday evening. I was watching all the stars arrive and listening to the commentators discuss whether the stars dresses were amazing or shitty. It was kind of getting me in the mood for watching the Oscars, so when the E show went off at 7 I switched it over to the network and watched 30 shitty minutes of them trying to interview stars.

I started watching the Oscars and kept yawning. I only watched it until about 8:15 then I had to switch over and watch Big Love. I just got bored with the Academy Awards. They weren't very good. And it doesn't make it any more interesting when you haven't seen half the movies that are nominated.

I wanted True Grit to win just because I like Jeff Bridges. I haven't seen True Grit so it could suck for all I know. (But I doubt it sucks) I am not a big Colin Firth fan.

I haven't seen Black Swan either so I don't know if those awards were deserved or not.

Did you watch? Did you predict the winners?

What Cares What I Have Been Doing Part 3.

I just watched a movie called Like Dandelion Dust with Mira Sorvino about a woman who gives up her baby for adoption and then 6 years later tries to get her child back from the adoptive parents. It was a good movie. At first it looked like it was going to be low budget and suck, but it didn't suck. Mira Sorvino is always good in everything she's in and this movie was no different. It choked me up a few times. It never made me full on cry but I got a lump in my throat in several places in the movie. So if you have Netflix or Blockbuster by mail, you can add it to your queue and watch it later. I never noticed it in the store (Blockbuster) but I saw it online on my BB by mail thing.

My kid's school have lost their mind. I got a note sent home last week... A NOTE, stating that even though our kids always get out of school at 2:20 in the afternoon, now all of a sudden in 2 weeks the new get out of school time is going to be 3:15!! Adding almost an hour to their day!! Now supposedly this was suppose to have been the release time all along but the school didn't enforce it. See the problem with this school my kids go to is they have over 300 car riders out of a school with just 450 kids. There's WAY MORE car riders than bus riders so they always let the car riders out of school FIRST, then they would gather up all the bus riders and shuttle them onto the buses. Now they are going to do the opposite. The bus riders get dismissed from class at 2:50 and the car riders are going to have to stay past the bus riders. THEY CLAIM this is to lengthen the school day to improve the children's education. My big fat question is this....why lengthen the CAR RIDERS school day but NOT the bus riders school day? So only the car riders need a better education? Why should one group have to stay longer than the other group? I think it is ridiculous. I called and talked to the Principal about it and all I get is a generic blanket answer that this is what the school board has told him to do and he has no choice in the matter. I think it is a bowl full of donkey balls is what I think it is.

I was at the post office today and there was a LONG line. There's normally NOT a long line but today there was because there was a holiday this week, Monday, President's Day. So that always makes the post office traffic higher in the days following a holiday. Anyway, my point is this. I am standing in line about half way back towards the door and this woman walks in carrying an infant in an infant carrier and walks right up to the front of the line, cuts in front of the first person in line and just as she does the man behind the counter hollers "NEXT" and she walks right up to the counter ahead of everybody who had been waiting in line and gets her stamps and then leaves. Now it all happened so fast that nobody really had time to say anything AT THE TIME because some ppl were confused. Not sure if she had been in previously and had been told that when she came back in to come directly to the counter or what. But that's not the case. The first 2 ppl in line that she cut in front of were obviously pissed off about it and when the lady walked up to the counter next she asked the postal worker had he told that woman (the one who cut) to cut in line in front of everybody and he said HELL TO THE NO he didn't and had he known she had cut in front of everybody he would not have waited on her. PEOPLE PISS ME OFF. I HATE PEOPLE. I know I have said this before and I will say it again but I HATE PEOPLE. ALMOST ALL PEOPLE. There's a few people I like and a few more than I tolerate but for the most part, people suck. When I do come across someone who doesn't suck it is a breath of fresh air. I would have hunted that woman down in the parking lot and slashed every one of her GAWD DAYUM car tires if I could do it and not go to jail for it. I would hit her in the head with a baseball bat and walk away laughing. Yes, I would. DOn't think for a minute that I wouldn't.

The latest on my Disney obsession. I asked the Disney Moms Panel if it is warm enough in December to go to the Disney water parks...because, they are OPEN in December. And the mom answered me back and said she has been to Disney in December every year the last 5 years and some years it has been in the 80's in December but some years it can be in the low 60's. That the only way to know for sure if it is going to be warm enough to swim is to just take your swim gear and wait and see once you get there if it is warm enough. So that's what we will do. I figured out also that it is cheaper just to pay for our tickets separately for the water park if we decide to go as opposed to adding the water park feature to our vacation tickets. It will cost $54 per person per ticket to add the water park feature and $54 per person per ticket for the park hopper feature. So basically $108 per person for one day of water park, or I can just pay the gate admission of $45 per person to get in the water park.

Ok, folks, who cares about Disney right? Pfffttt. I have talked about Disney all morning with some nice folks on Twitter and even ended up meeting one of the moms who are on the Disney Moms Panel. I am getting more educated about all things Disney, more and more every day.

I have been cleaning house today and doing laundry and tweeting about it. It seems that me tweeting about all the chores I have been doing has motivated some folks to do the same thing, pissed some ppl off because they really need to clean but don't want to, and made some folks feel even more lazy than they already did. I haven't done everything I need to do but I am more than half way done. I have done 4 loads of laundry, cleaned the master bathroom, dusted the master bedroom and living room, changed my bed sheets and am about to finish my last load of clothes. All I have left to do is clean the front bathroom and straighten the living room, then vacuum. Viola. House all done.

I always sit around being lazy while my husband is out of town working, then the day before he comes home I do all the laundry and cleaning. I only have to clean the house twice a month. Lucky me! If he worked IN TOWN I would have to clean a lot more often than I do.

Were you able to take a minute and watch that video I posted yesterday of the dancing baby in Brazil? If you haven't watched it, you just HAVE TO! It is so funny. This little kid looks younger than 2, still has a diaper on and dances his little ASS OFF for 3 minutes straight! Just scroll down. It is right under this post.

Well, the one thing I forgot to do today was take a shower and EAT!! I am about to go do both. Eat first, then shower. TTFN

Who Cares What I Have Been Doing Part 2.

I have been doing a whole lot of jack shit nothing.

I am still deep in the planning stages of our December 2011 Walt Disney World vacation plans. I have been scouring the WDW websites and discovered the Disney MOMS PANEL where you can ask questions and have expert Disney moms answer your questions regarding any ole thing you can think to ask. And I have definitely been asking. They have answered every question so far. They are going to be SICK OF ME before our trip finally comes to pass.

I found a special promotion in a TV commercial yesterday and then went and found it on the Disney website where you get your room, tickets and a dining plan for $89 per person per day. I saved a trip under that promotion plan and as long as I book it  by March 21st then I am all set. The vacation promotion is for a family of 4 and even though we are a family of 5, all we have to do is pay for the extra kid's tickets on the side. It is going to save us about $1300 by booking with the dining plan promotion.

I had crossed my fingers and hoped to get some kind of promotion that included a dining plan. The dining plan will only be for 4 of the 5 of us also, but with the amount of meal credits we will have (extra credits we won't use) it will be enough to feed all 5 of us for most days. We won't have to pay for very many meals. Not only is it saving us about $1300 off our original vacation plan with NO DINING PLAN we will have a basically free dining plan for 4 of us. SO in the long run it really saves us about $800 more in food savings.

That will enable us to save faster. Enable me to save by selling less tote bags then I would have had to have sold otherwise to be able to go. I am paying for half of it and my husband is paying for the other half plus the gas.

We are going to stay in a value resort (Pop Century) and have 8 day base tickets. We will only use 4 days of the 8 day base tickets but you have to have the same amount of days on your tickets and your dining plan, one for every night of your stay. We will technically be there 7 nights and 8 days but only actually be there 6 whole days. 2 of the 6 days won't even be on Disney property. One day we will be at Universal and one day we will be at Sea World.

But they give you base tickets and meal credits for your day of arrival and the day of your departure. Both of which we won't use. We will arrive VERY late our first day (after bedtime) and leave early our day of departure.

Husband finally decided to go with us. At first I wasn't sure if it was going to be just me and the kids or if I was going to take my 70 year old dad with us, but DH finally decided he would go and take his son with us.

The kids are out of school tomorrow for some off the wall holiday. President's Day or Lincoln's birthday or something. I am not up on the occasion.

I have a tote bag that sold that is waiting to be mailed but I am not going to be able to get it out until Tuesday. I hate delayed shipping. I like getting my shit out right away when it sells, but it sold Friday, I made it Saturday and now it is sitting waiting to go out.

OH something else about Disney... that's all I have on the brain since I decided to go... The Disney moms panel answered a question I asked regarding the time of year we are planning to go... Dec 4th through the 11th and they said it is a PRIME time of year to go because all of the kids are in school and the parks aren't crowded. So I feel a big sense of accaccomplishment that I picked the PRIME dates to go to the park. Although I read about the dead times of Disney on different websites, I am still giving myself credit for it.

I have been reading all of these questions that other moms have been asking of the Moms Panel and a lot of parents are taking little BITTY kids to the Disney parks. A 1 yr old and a 3 yr old. 3 yr old twins. an 8 month old and a 2 yr old. WHY? The kids are never going to remember it. SO what if you get a picture of Mickey Mouse holding your toddler. That kid is going to spend the day trying to run from you, needing a nap and snack every 30 minutes, needing diaper changes, can't ride hardly any rides at all. What's the point? Wait until your kid is big enough to ride shit, old enough to remember shit and old enough NOT to be a pain in the ass to the parents.

That's my 2 cents worth about that.

Ok, something else I forgot to tell you about. I watched this show on TV yesterday that I DVR'd at husband's request called The Day: Remembering Dale Earnhardt. I am not a NASCAR fan. I am the opposite of a Nascar fan. I think it's dumb. I hate sports. I hate racing. But husband assured me that this show was very good. It chronicles the DAY Dale died, Feb 18th, 2001. 10 years ago. SO I am always up for a good biography type show, so I watched it. OMGGIMMEAKLEENEX it was a good show.

It described the events (the Daytona 500) that led up to the crash that killed him. It was a very interesting story. It was the first time Mike Waltrip had EVER WON A RACE. He had raced 462 times and never won a race but Dale Earnhardt had set it up to help him win this day, and win he did. He was busy celebrating his victory while Dale was being taken into the ER, CPR being done on him. It was such a minor wreck compared to what most Nascar wrecks look like. The other guy who got in the wreck with Dale just hopped right out of his car and trotted over to Dale's car only to realize Dale was in bad trouble. Died instantly according to the reports and yet people pulled him out of the car and worked on him for an hour or two trying to bring him back to life. SO if you see it on SPEED channel, DVR it or watch it. Really good show. It's called The Day.

Who Cares What I Have Been Doing!

Hello my loyal readers. I have missed all 7 of you this week of not posting. I have had a sort of busy week with unusual occurances. We had a freak winter storm (I'm in MISSISSIPPI folks) and got about 3 inches of snow and of course the whole world shut down. Ppl lose their minds when there is white stuff on the ground and they forget how to drive.

They closed down school for a day and the roads weren't even snowy or icy, they were perfectly drivable. I know because I drove all around town and never hit a wet or slick patch on the road.

The kid's had to have their Valentine parties at school this year a few days early. We had to do it on Friday instead of Monday because the school has some kind of health inspectors coming Monday and I guess the food in the classrooms wouldn't be good to have while they are there.

SO we had bought stuff (from Oriental Trading Company) to make up gift boxes for each kid in both classes, DD's and DS's class. 44 kids and 2 teachers.

The original boxes I bought were too little and I had to go back and reorder newer BIGGER boxes to be able to hold all the treats and goodies we got to put in them. But the newer boxes were 6 inches long by about 3 inches deep and 4 or 5 inches high. They were red and said Happy Valentine's Day on them.
They were cute. I have a picture of one of the boxes on my phone but I don't know how to get it from my phone to my blog, so....alas...no picture of the gift boxes.

But the gift boxes were filled with suckers, and chocolates, and fortune cookies, Chuck E Cheese free tokens coupons, pinata toys (little toy thing that you buy to put inside a pinata) Hershey Kisses, big chocolate lips, mints, Tootsie Roll Pops, etc. The kids had a blast sitting in the living room floor and popping open all the boxes and then filling them up one by one. Well they didn't fill them up one by one, they put one item in every box then went back with another item and put one in every box, like that.

They ended up with a few extra pinata toys and some leftover candy.

They also had to do the traditional Valentine cards that you write to and from on and pop a little piece of candy into it. So we were busy as heck Thursday (our snow day)

We went to Kroger and bought the 24 pack of cupcakes and boxes and BOXES of Capri Sun's, enough for both classes.

I took the stuff up to the school Friday and stayed and sat in a little with both my kids during their Valentine party. I was able to help with DS's party a little more than DD's party. But I tried. Just by the time I got tot DD's class they had already passed everything out and there was nothing for me to do but sit there with her. Her class was watching Wall-E and were suppose to sit quietly and watch the movie. That didn't seem like a fun party to me. At least DS's class they got to visit with each other and talk to one another.

Well, the students LOVED the gift/goody boxes from the kids and both teacher's were very impressed with how much time and money we spent trying to make them have a cool party. (Impressed was not my words but theirs)

In other news, I have sold my next to the last Black Embroidered suede tote bag and only have enough suede left to make ONE MORE BLACK tote. It saddens me. I have more of the Brown suede, just the black is almost gone. I would give anything to be able to get ahold of some more of that fabric but Hancock fabric near me sold out of almost a year ago and the fabric I do have now was actually acquired through one of my Twitter friends who was going to his local fabric store for something and said he would look for me and see if his Hancock had any of the embroidered suede left and they DID! And he bought up several yards of each for me, boxed it up and shipped it to me. He sent me a paypal invoice for what it cost him and I paid him the same day, but he was out the money up front. Which I thought was amazingly kind and generous thing to do for a stranger. I was super duper happy to get that fabric.

If we had more Hancock fabric stores near me in adjoining states I would trek to the other stores and see if I could find some more of it. Hancock had decided to stop carrying it altogether so once a store doesn't have it anymore, it's just GONE.

Well, DH has left me once again. Not LEFT ME left me, but has left town again to go back to work for 2 weeks. He is always gone and rarely home. And he had to leave early this time to go back because of the bad snowy weather that was headed for us that threatened to snow him in. He couldn't take a chance getting stuck at home because he has to drive 3 hours to another state to get to his job. But he left out early, got a room near his job and just stayed the night down there and avoided getting stuck in the weather.

I'm thinking about taking my kids to the movie theater an hour away (since my town's sucky ass theater is not showing it) to see the new Justin Bieber movie Never Say Never. Both the kids want to see it. It's suppose to be a documentary type movie that shows behind the scenes with him at concerts, home movies, etc. I am not AGAINST taking them to it I just wish the movie theater right here in my own GAWD DAYUM town would show it so I don't have to get out on the highway and head out of town.

I know there was a time when anybody suggested I go see a Justin Bieber movie I would have shot them in the face. I was so ANTI Justin Bieber it wasn't even funny. But I had never even heard one of his songs when I was hating him. I just hated the idea of him. After downloading some of his music for the kids little MP3 players, his tunes are quite catchy. He's not so bad.

I read last month's Vanity Fair article about him and they estimated his worth NOW at near 100 million dollars. The kids is only 16!

Anyway... if I don't take them to see that movie, there's going to be a whole lotta NOTHING going on here this weekend. I have no plans other than a stack of DVR'd episodes of NCIS to watch. The kids are so sick of NCIS they don't even protest they just walk out of the room when I start watching it. WIN WIN!!

I started watching a show that is not new, this is the second season I think, but it is called Justified with Timothy Olyphant playing a Federal Marshall. It's very interesting. I haven't let the kids watch it with me because at the beginning it keeps giving TVMA ratings and saying partial nudity, but I have YET to see one inappropriate thing, so I don't know why they keep mislabeling the show like that. But the minute I don't heed the rating warning and let the kids watch it, it's probably going to cut to some shot of a woman bare chested and riding like a cowgirl. SO , so far they haven't seen that one with me. I watch the DVR'd episodes while they are at school.

What's new with you? What are you going to be doing  this weekend?

Mickey OH Mickey

I am reading the Unofficial Guide To Disney World with kids.

I am planning on taking my kids to Disney (for the first time) some time at the end of this year.

I have talked to some ladies on Twitter about Disney and it seems like I JUST MISSED out on a damn sweet "free dining" promotion that ended in December. If you booked by Dec 20th and took your trip in Sept 2011 then your dining plan is free. That would have saved me over a thousand dollars if I had gotten in on that deal.

I am crossing my fingers that they come out with it again but they probably will NOT according to the lady on the other end of the phone at 407-W-Disney. She said it was probably a one time deal and that they have said it won't happen again. But who ever knows right. It might happen again. =(

My husband doesn't want to go to Disney with us so I am probably going to end up taking my 70 year old dad with us. As much as I would prefer my husband to go, when he makes his mind up on something he just doesn't budge. He has decided he really doesn't want to go so it doesn't matter that I want him to go....so... what can you do....

Anyway, if we stay at a value resort such as Pop Century and only get 4 day base tickets then it will cost $1,800 plus whatever it costs us to eat ($1,200 for 6 days) I only say 4 day base ticket because 2 of the 6 days we will be there will be for Universal Studios (not part of Disney) and Sea World (also not part of Disney) so we only need 4 day base tickets to go to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

I was debating on whether to fly there or drive there. I would like to fly there to save time (LOTS OF TIME) but I would like to have a car while I am there and don't want to have to rent one. I am reluctant to drive 14 HOURS from Mississippi to Orlando, Florida with 2 kids in the car. The farthest I have ever been with them was a 6 hour trip to Texas and it seemed to take 20 hours from them asking every 15 minutes "Are we almost there?" HOWEVER, if I drive to Disney I will be sure and get them EACH their own portable DVD player so they can watch movies on the way and entertain themselves a little bit.

I hate driving but me and my dad usually can find something to talk about, even if it does end up in an argument most of the time.

One of the benefits of driving would be that if I drive my own car I can take a cooler with my homemade tea in it and I can tote my body pillow with me. That may not seem like a very big deal to most ppl but those 2 things are super important to me. I ONLY drink my own homemade sweet tea and it is SO HARD for me to try to sleep without my body pillow. I have slept with it since I was 14 years old, every night. SO just to have those 2 things are swaying me towards driving.

I am almost sure I am going to drive.

The guide books talks about HUGE crowds and SUPER LONG LINES and try to get to the good rides before 10 a.m or after 5 p.m. Well, I think I have just decided that I am going to go in the off season WHILE school is in session and just take the kids out of school for one week so we can go when there aren't a lot of ppl and the lines aren't long.

I only plan on going to Disney ONCE so I don't want it to suck and I don't want to not to get to ride stuff because of super long lines.

I am thinking I will go some time in between Halloween and New Years. The guide book says that during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks the parks are swamped with ppl, so I will probably go the weeks in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, like the first week in December or the second week in November.

Have you ever been to Disney? How long did you stay? Where did you stay? Tell me all about it. I am super curious about other ppl's Disney experiences. Did you eat quick service counter meals within the parks? Did you leave the property to eat supper and breakfast? How much did your trip cost you? I know that's a big ole nosey question but I am nosey. Did you make reservations and eat at sit down restaurants? How did you know which places to make reservations at?

Fill me in!!

Ole Man Winter come blow me.

I got the call from my daughter's teacher this morning letting me know there was an "emergency" at school (scared me to death) and that I needed to go pick my kids up at 11:30 instead of 2:20 as usual. Turns out the "emergency" is a forecast of POTENTIAL/POSSIBLE sleet or wintry mix that may/could come through here over the course of the day. And since we don't hire folks around here who can drive on snow or sleet or any wintry mix, that means we have to get the kids out of the school, on the bus and to their house BEFORE the weather happens, IF, a big IF the weather ever does happen.

So, I went and picked mine up early. I froze my ass off and got out and had to go INSIDE the school and check them out in the office.

We don't get much wintery weather around here and when we do or if there is even a tiny possibility of any winter weather this town freaks the fuck out. I went to Walmart this afternoon just to get some grocery stuff I had on my house list...not for stocking up for the coming snowpacalypse, nothing like that. I wasn't there to stock up on toilet paper, bottled water and batteries. I was getting ass wipes, canned fruit, lettuce, potatoes, cereal, grilled chicken....nothing very doom and gloom like a lot of the folks who were coming in to get "stocked up" for the upcoming winter weather storm. Ppl get so dramatic.

Our damn city was salting and sanding the bridges early today and nothing had been falling. No rain, no sleet, no snow....JUST IN CASE.

Things are usually pretty slow around here so when someone farts that it might snow ppl get all excited.

I wish I knew for sure that my kids weren't going to be going to school tomorrow so I can stay my ass in bed in the morning. Some schools are already showing tonight that they will be closed tomorrow but not our county, not yet.

I guess I will get up in the morning and check the news stations for what schools are reporting closings and see what that means for us, stay in bed or get on up.
